Steve Sallenbach, President & CEO
Steve developed a strong Nebraska work ethic while growing up on his family’s farm near Milford, Nebraska. During his high school years, his family relocated to Bellevue, Nebraska. After graduation, he attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln where he earned a degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics.
His banking career began in Omaha, Nebraska—working for two banks prior to joining FirstBank of Nebraska in 1986 as controller. He was named president and CEO in 1991. Steve has extensive experience in accounting, mergers and acquisitions, financial operations and bank holding company management. As a seasoned veteran of the banking industry, he provides sound leadership to the FirstBank of Nebraska team.
Steve is actively involved in the Wahoo, Nebraska community, sharing his time and talents with a number of organizations over the years, including: Saunders County Economic Development Foundation, Greater Wahoo Development Foundation, Wahoo Community Foundation, Wahoo Lions Club, Wahoo Chamber of Commerce, Wahoo City Council Advisory Board, Wahoo Area Parks & Recreation, Wahoo Library Foundation, Wahoo Investment Club, Wahoo Building & Grounds Committee and Wahoo Mayor’s Facilities Committee.
Stuart Krejci, Senior Vice President
Stuart began his banking career in 1982, working at different metropolitan banks prior to joining FirstBank of Nebraska in 1989. Stuart gained an appreciation for agriculture and rural life while being raised on his family's farm near Schuyler, Neb. That is why he attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and in 1982, earned a degree in Agricultural Economics. Stuart's expertise makes him well-suited to tend to the financial needs of FirstBank's agricultural and commercial lending customers.
Stuart was elected to the Wahoo City Council and is currently serving as council president and chairman of the Finance and Personnel Committee. Stuart also sits on the Wahoo Economic Development Committee and the Wahoo Parks, Recreation and Cultural Committee. He shares his time and talents on the boards of several other non-profit and community betterment organizations, including serving as director of the Greater Wahoo Development Foundation and treasurer of Wahoo Industries.
Stuart and his wife, Susan have two children, Kristin and John.
Audrey Vaught, Vice President
A born and raised Nebraskan, Audrey Vaught grew up on the Regier family farm south of Aurora, Nebraska. Audrey attended Aurora Public Schools and went on to graduate from Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. She then returned to Nebraska where she accrued more than 35 years of experience in the banking industry. Audrey has worked as a trust officer, investment sales rep, personal banker, assistant branch manager and—for more than 20 years—a mortgage loan officer.
As a mortgage lender, Audrey has learned that the best way to be successful is to exceed the expectations of her customers—always providing them with more than enough information. She is dedicated to friendly, personalized customer service and takes pride in helping her customers find solutions, rather than obstacles that cannot be overcome.
Audrey moved from her hometown of Aurora to Wahoo, Nebraska in 2013. Since moving to Wahoo, Audrey has been elected to the Wahoo Chamber Board of Directors, the City of Wahoo Planning Commission and the Saunders County Crime Stoppers Board of Directors. She is also an active member of Lions Club, the SMC Hospital Auxiliary and a TeamMates mentor. In Aurora, Audrey was active in the Aurora Optimist Club, AAU Women’s Club, Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Hamilton Community Foundation and Aurora Area Chamber and Development. In January 2013, she was recognized for three years of service as president of the Aurora Area Chamber and Development and named the Outstanding Member of the Year.
Audrey has three children—Jeremy (Cassie) Vaught, Whitney (Casey) Wittstruck and Jake (Vanessa) Vaught.
Kristi Hohl, Vice President of Compliance & Human Resources
Kristi was raised in Mead, Nebraska and later left to attend Tarrant County Junior College in Texas. A Nebraskan at heart, Kristi returned and graduated from Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska where she earned a degree in Business Administration. Kristi has been in the banking industry for more than 20 years and at FirstBank of Nebraska since 2008.
FirstBank of Nebraska, Kristi has experience in bookkeeping, payroll and compliance regulations. Her strong sense of organization and keen attention to detail helps FirstBank of Nebraska maintain operational consistency and compliance.
Kristi and her family reside in Wahoo, Nebraska where she is an active member of the community and participates in Relay for Life.
Nancy Chapek, Assistant Cashier
Nancy grew up on a family farm near Colon, Nebraska where she and her family currently reside and have a farming operation. She is a 1980 graduate of Bishop Neumann Central High School in Wahoo, Nebraska and is a 1983 graduate of the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Since joining FirstBank of Nebraska in 1986, Nancy has had a broad range of experience in bookkeeping, data processing, operations, consumer lending and compliance. She also completed the School of Banking Fundamentals, Intermediate School of Banking and Compliance School through NBA/KBA Schools of Banking course work and enhanced training in numerous areas of deposit services.
As the Assistant Cashier, Nancy manages the areas responsible for deposit operations and customer service in the Wahoo branch and also works with compliance, special bank wide projects and product services. Her position contributes to helping areas run smoothly and in assisting customers with services and conveniences.
Paul Kipple, Vice President
Paul began his banking career in 2003 and has worked as a teller, personal banker, credit analyst and commercial and agricultural lender. He is a sixth generation Nebraskan, was raised in Omaha and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Creighton University. Paul served six years in the Nebraska Air National Guard and was honorably discharged in 2011. His experience in multiple facets of banking gives him the ability to tend to the financial needs of FirstBank of Nebraska’s agricultural and commercial lending customers.
Paul serves as a mentor in the SCORE Entrepreneur Workshop in Omaha, helping prospective business owners navigate the challenges of starting a small business. He also sits on the board for the Saunders County Independent Bankers Association.
Paul and his wife, Julianne, have a young son, Ford. They are members of Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn. They enjoy spending time with loved ones at their family’s cabin in Minnesota, are avid sports fans and enjoy the great outdoors.
