Steve Sallenbach, Vice Chairman of the Board
Steve developed a strong Nebraska work ethic while growing up on his family’s farm near Milford, Nebraska. During his high school years, his family relocated to Bellevue, Nebraska. After graduation, he attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln where he earned a degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics.
His banking career began in Omaha, Nebraska—working for two banks prior to joining FirstBank of Nebraska in 1986 as controller. He was named president and CEO in 1991. Steve has extensive experience in accounting, mergers and acquisitions, financial operations and bank holding company management. As a seasoned veteran of the banking industry, he provides sound leadership to the FirstBank of Nebraska team.
Steve is actively involved in the Wahoo, Nebraska community, sharing his time and talents with a number of organizations over the years, including: Saunders County Economic Development Foundation, Greater Wahoo Development Foundation, Wahoo Community Foundation, Wahoo Lions Club, Wahoo Chamber of Commerce, Wahoo City Council Advisory Board, Wahoo Area Parks & Recreation, Wahoo Library Foundation, Wahoo Investment Club, Wahoo Building & Grounds Committee and Wahoo Mayor’s Facilities Committee.
Stuart Krejci, President
Stuart began his banking career in 1982, working at different metropolitan banks prior to joining FirstBank of Nebraska in 1989. Stuart gained an appreciation for agriculture and rural life while being raised on his family's farm near Schuyler, Nebraska. That is why he attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and in 1982, earned a degree in Agricultural Economics. Stuart's expertise makes him well-suited to tend to the financial needs of FirstBank's agricultural and commercial lending customers.
Stuart was elected to the Wahoo City Council and is currently serving as council president and chairman of the Finance and Personnel Committee. Stuart also sits on the Wahoo Economic Development Committee. He shares his time on the boards of several other non-profit and community betterment organizations, including serving as director of the Greater Wahoo Development Foundation.
Stuart and his wife, Susan have two children, Kristin and John.
Audrey Vaught, Senior Vice President
A born and raised Nebraskan, Audrey Vaught grew up on the Regier family farm south of Aurora, Nebraska. Audrey has over 30 years of experience in mortgage lending. Audrey is dedicated to friendly, personalized customer service and takes pride in helping her customers find solutions to their lending needs. She is pleased to offer local servicing of your mortgage loan.
Audrey moved from her hometown of Aurora to Wahoo in 2013. Since moving to Wahoo, Audrey has served on the Greater Wahoo Development Foundation Board of Directors, Wahoo Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Lions Club as a past president, Saunders County Crime Stoppers Board of Directors, City of Wahoo Planning Commission, Saunders Medical Center Auxiliary Board, and has been a TeamMates mentor.
Audrey has three children and seven grandchildren and enjoys reading and golfing in her spare time.
Adam Thompson, Senior Vice President
Adam was raised on a farm in Northeast Nebraska. After graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, he started his banking career, now having over 20 years of experience in banking. Adam is new to FirstBank of Nebraska and the Wahoo area from Norfolk, NE where he served on several boards, for several service organizations, coached, and mentored.
Travis Wagenknecht, Vice President - Compliance Officer
Travis grew up on a family farm near Seward, Nebraska and graduated from Seward High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Sports Management from Nebraska Wesleyan University and also received a master’s degree in Business Administration with a Finance concentration from Bellevue University.
Travis has been in banking since graduating from Nebraska Wesleyan in 2007 and has experience in many different areas of the bank including operations, lending and compliance. Prior to joining FirstBank of Nebraska in 2017, he worked as a loan underwriter for a large regional bank for nearly 6 years.
Travis and his wife Kate live on an acreage near Mead where they are raising their three children. He is an active member in the community helping to coach youth sports in Mead. Travis is also a member of Alma Lutheran Church in Mead and the Wahoo Lions Club.
Russell Anderson, HR Manager - Accounting Officer
Rusty grew up on a farm near Colon, Nebraska. He attended Wahoo Public Schools and later graduated from Metro Community College & Bellevue University with a degree in Business Administration and an emphasis in Accounting. He has worked at Firstbank of Nebraska in Wahoo since 2011. Rusty serves on First Presbyterian Church’s Finance committee as well as helps with local youth sports his children are involved in. Rusty and his wife, Barbie, have 3 children.
Craig Miller, Loan Officer
Craig grew up in Osceola, Nebraska where he graduated from Osceola High School. After high school, he attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln where he earned an associates degree in Business Management. Craig has 12 years of experience working in the appraisal field. He is a member of St. Wenceslaus Church in Wahoo and serves as a Knight of Columbus. Craig recently became a mentor for the TeamMates Program.
Caitlin Augustin, Loan Officer - Credit Analyst
Caitlin grew up in Wahoo, where she attended Wahoo Public Schools. She has worked at FirstBank of Nebraska since 2020 and has 5 years of banking experience. Caitlin is dedicated to learning the industry and building relationships within the community. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church and of the Wahoo Chamber of Commerce.
Caitlin and her husband Trevor have one son, Jaxon, and are expecting a boy in June. In her spare time she is a devoted gym member at the Wahoo Civic Center, enjoys Jane Austen, and likes to visit the Rockies when she can.
Launa Cook, Personal Banking Officer
Launa has been a lifelong resident of Wahoo and graduated from Wahoo High School. She graduated from Lincoln School of Commerce and brings more than 25 years of banking experience to FirstBank of Nebraska. Launa enjoys all aspects of her job but her favorite part is being able to work with her customers. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Wahoo where she served many years as Sunday School Superintendent. She is a member of PEO Chapter I in Wahoo. She has 2 grown boys and 2 grandchildren.
Linda Dailey, Personal Banking Officer
Linda is a lifelong resident of Saunders County Nebraska and is a graduate of Wahoo High School. She began working for FirstBank of Nebraska in 1977 where she has held various positions within the bank. She enjoys working with all customers and is a dedicated and knowledgeable employee when helping them with their banking needs.
She is an active member of Saint Wenceslaus Church in Wahoo where she has been involved in various church activities.
She and her husband, Pat, live in Wahoo where they raised their 3 children. She enjoys taking fishing trips with her family and grandchildren.
